BO 4-6-0 #175 - Baltimore & Ohio |
Description: |
Built by Baldwin in February of 1916 as Cincinnati, Indianapolis & Western 4-6-0 ten wheeler #205, it was merged into the B&O roster as BO 4-6-0 #175 in 1927. The loco was renumbered again in 1948 to B&O #239 when piston valves and a superheater were added. Unfortunately, the loco only lasted one more year before being scrapped in February of 1949. Original specs - 57" drivers, 19x28" cylinders, 200 psi boiler pressure, engine wt of 163,000 lb and tractive effort of 30,000 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo. |
