This is the "City of Los Angeles" as evidenced by the train number 104 in the numberboards of the lead unit. The train is shown arriving in Chicago on the Milwaukee Road, so the date would have to be no earlier than November, 1955, as that is when the UP City trains switched from a C&NW to a Milwaukee Road routing east of Omaha.

More like 1956-57. The parking lot on the near left shows a lot of 1956 Chevrolets plus a 1956 Dodge and a 1957 Ford (sporting a continental kit in back). Just a guess, but this could be a storage lot for Hertz Rent-A-Car based on the similarity of the cars and the close parking.
