PRR 8906, AS-16M, c. 1960
Everyday. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, c. August of 1960. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8906, an AS-16M built by the American Locomotive Company in April of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in October of 1967 after just 16 years of revenue service. The names of the three Railroaders pictured here are not recorded. At the right is the steam-era water tower; behind it is the Samuel Rea Shop.
