Altoona Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1956. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8607 and #8610. Both are APS-24MS's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 2,400 horsepower each. #8607 was constructed in December of 1955, while #8610 was built one month later. Note the passenger-service air hoses just to the right of the coupler. Partially visible in the right background are portions of Juniata's 17th Street Bridge and the East Altoona Roundhouse.
