Here is the first of five photos via Edward Highland. Shown here is Long Island Rail Road engine #31, a G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler" built in Juniata expressly for the LIRR during September of 1928. The presence of a baggage car suggests that this is a line-haul passenger train. Also note the electrified third-rails. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. |
