31 Cars East         
With 31 cars in tow, a UP freight heads east through Fort Lupton, CO bound for North Platte, NE. Up front is GP30 849, followed by GP9B 194B, SD45 3041 and E8A 928. Lead 849 had been built by EMD in September 1962. It was retired in 1985 and donated to the Feather River Rail Society in 1986. It would be on display at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA until 2018, when it was sold to Western Rail and moved to Washington.

Tom Beckett General What a cool consist!! The only other road I can picture with a set like this is the Pennsy, which also rostered all the same models. UP's look better, though a bit dirty. 10/9/2023 5:26:47 AM
