NYC 4-8-2 #3001 - New York Central         
Built by ALCo-Schenectady in October of 1940 as NYC 4-8-2 "Mohawk" #3001 (serial #69338), it was a powerful loco for freight and passenger service. Specs - 69" drivers, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, 25.5x30" cylinders, engine weight of 388,500 lb, tractive effort of 60,100 lb. An unknown railfan took this photo during the summer of 2006.
