WR. Here is the first of two successive images of photos by William H. Rau that were taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1892. Shown here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's six-car "Pennsylvania Limited" that's paused at the Curve for a portrait. It's powered by engine #601, a D-11A (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during July of 1886 and retired in July of 1907 after 21 years of faithful service. Visible at the right is Milepost 242. William E. Burket Collection.
