| Seconds after the last car of K596 passed, the CPLs went back to a yellow indication, so I knew I had enough time to try to get down to the CPLs. One of two brackets north of Cincinnati remains at Swanders, so I really wanted to get something passing it. It is quite a walk from the nearest road to the signals. So, I got all my equipment out and began making a B-Line toward the signals. Unfortunately I didnt get very far before the headlight of CSX Q143 popped up from over the rise. I was also completely unaware that the train would be running around the slower moving K train would be utilizing the track that I had planned to stand in the middle of. I did some very quick thinking, and decided to just stay where I was and take a very long shot and then hop into the ditch. Thankfully, it all worked out. Anything for the shot! |
