| On 20 July 2001 19 cars on Canadian National train M-319 derailed at Ruddock, Louisiana – between New Orleans and Hammond – so the next day’s Amtrak No. 59, the southbound CITY OF NEW ORLEANS, was turned on the wye at Hammond, Louisiana and later returned north as No. 58. Here was P42 number 3 and eight cars parked on a siding across from the Hammond depot. |
