PRR 9516, EF-15, 1956
TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, on 25 August 1956. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9516 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EF-15's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9516 was built in May of 1948 and retired in March of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, they're pulling an eastbound freight train and are about to cross the Bridge. Wave to the Engineman! (Gift from Brad Mann.) (#7,000)
