| The new Class 501, in service since 2020, has space for 405 passengers and runs on 250 kph / 155 mph through the Gotthard (GBT) and Ceneri Base Tunnel (CBT). The CBT opened a few weeks ago and has a length of 15 km / 9.3 miles. Instead of the summit Gotthard line there is now a "flat" line through the Swiss alps. |
