PRR 1777, H-9S, 1957         
Coal Power. Here is an original 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) by D.R. McCulloch that was taken in Camden, New Jersey, on 3 September 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1777, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-8B during January of 1911, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-9S in August of 1916, and retired in October of 1958 after 47 years of faithful service.
