Almost-new Southern Railway SD40 3179 was the second of three locomotives on southbound intermodal train No. 219 at Slidell, Louisiana. This unit was built in April 1971 and was one of 31 SD40's on the Southern (3170-3200). It became Norfolk Southern 3179 and then Watco 4114. (approximate date of photo) |
