Central Pacific #233
This engine, built in the Central Pacific shops in 1882, is a 2-6-2T. The "T" means there is no tender, the fuel (wood in this instance) and water are carried on the locomotive itself. This photo was taken when the 233 was on outside display at the Oakland Auditorium; it has since been moved to the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento.
