Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Union Station in Chicago, Illinois, c. 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5703 and two more "EP" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5703 is an EP-22 constructed in September of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. In this context, they're departing the Station with a passenger train bound for Pittsburgh and points East. Also departing is a Burlington Route passenger train. |
