WC 3018 pauses on the 26th Street crossing as the crew lines the wye switch
The crew operating this engine is the L548, which is based out of Manitowoc's Calumet Yard and works the industries around town. The "road" train is L524, which handles the traffic to and from the outside world at Neenah. 3018 is the last remnant of the once mighty fleets of sharp looking maroon and gold GP40s, SD45s, GP30s, SDL39s and others that roamed the rails of the western Great Lakes from the late 1980s to the early 2000s.
