PRR 6724, M-1B, 1954
TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, on 28 October 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6724, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an M-1A during May of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in February of 1949, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service. In this context, it's about to cross the Bridge with an eastbound mineral train.
