Typical motley power  Contributor's Pick!
A leased SD 38, one of two on the railroad-the other is the last unit in this consist-a couple of patch painted SP units, and a black ex NS SD lead a 76 car train north past the ex DLW station, partly visible behind the train, at Whitney Point. This is most likely an SU 403, a train run as a detour move for CSX. This was common at the time, as CSX was doing a lot of work on their ex NYC lines from Jersey to Buffalo, so getting a low priority train off their main eased the congestion.
