It was published originally in the 17 June 1977 issue of the "New York Times," page B1. Photo by Edward Hausner. Photo Caption: "A forty-year-old engine pulling the Broadway Limited into the signal center at station in Newark on 75th anniversary run." Shown here is Amtrak engine #4935, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric locomotive built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in Juniata during March of 1943, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.
