Winter Day. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during February of 1966. Shown here (on the left) is an unidentified EMD switcher; it's traversed the mainline and is about to pass under the 4th Street Bridge with an eight-car local freight train. Two of the trains to the right await crews and orders to proceed: engine #6046 on the left, engine #2246 on the right. Visible on the far left are some of the PRR Passenger Car Shop buildings, now abandoned. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge. |
