PRR 8960, BS-24M, 1964
Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 03 September 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #8960, a BS-24M built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1951 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. Its crew has received permission to pass from one signal bloc to another, and is now pulling an 89-car mixed-cargo freight train over the Bedford Street Crossing into the Hollidaysburg Yards. The caboose is #477964.
