PRR 2505, GF-25, 1964
Tyrone. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, on 19 September 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2505, #7231-B, and #9691. #2505 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #7231-B is an EFS-17M constructed by GM-EMD in October of 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9691 is an EF-15A built as an EH-15 in April of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and retired in February of 1967. They're pulling a 129-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight with cabin #477819. Photo taken just West of the Tyrone Station.
