Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad rolling stock in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 28 September 1963. Shown here is PRR #470008, an F-29 heavy-duty flat car. It is sitting near the Yard Master's office, at the very eastern end of South Juniata Street. Also partially visible are the ancient Water Tower (last vestage of the "Age of Steam") and two Diesel switchers: #9131 and #8100. Both switchers were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #9131 is a BS-10A built in 1948 and rated at 1,000 horsepower. #8100 is a BS-12 built in 1954 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. Hollidaysburg's famous "Chimney Rocks" are also visible in the distance! |
