CRIP 9001 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific  Contributor's Pick!
Interesting photo of unit that started out as a Pullman RPO but converted by the Rock Island shops into an interurban car #5997. In April of 1939. it was then rebuilt again into a combo doodlebug #9001. According to sources online, this unit was powered by two Sinton 120's. The date in 1947 is approximate. Photo credit appears to go to William Hixon or Nixon (damaged stamp on the back).
