| Cab Ride. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in the cab of a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger locomotive from Pittsburgh to Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 December 1962. Shown here are two Diesel locomotives pulling an eastbound freight train near Derry, Pennsylvania. The unit closest to the camera is engine #2403, an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. It's almost brand new! |
