C&EI GP35 653
This locomotive may have looked like a Missouri Pacific GP35; but the lettering in the buzzsaw emblem read C&EI, and it had dynamic brakes. This was an option not found on GP35's built new for the MP. The 653 was built as C&EI 245. and was eventually renumbered MP 2550. It was retired 10 years after this photo was taken underneath the Mississippi River Bridge at Race Street Yard in New Orleans, and it was traded-in to EMD.
