| Coal Power. Here is a photo by Richard J. Cook that was taken near Delphos, Ohio, in the Summer of 1946. It was published originally in the "Railroad Model Craftsman" for September 1956, page 61. Photo Caption: "Delphos, Ohio, is a watering stop for locomotives of the Pennsylvania Railroad, 14 miles west of Lima on the Pittsburgh-Chicago main line. Engine 6848 ~ hauling a westbound merchandise train ~ prepares to stop for water as it nears Delphos. The fireman has already climbed to the top of the huge tender, ready to swing the spout into position. No. 6848 is a class M-1 (4-8-2) Mountain locomotive." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad steam engine #6848, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during 1926 and retired in May of 1956.
