| By the time this photo was taken, in 1992, the R 32 cars had already been in service for over 25 years, and would see yet another rebuilding that would carry them into their fifth decade of service. Now having been demoted to secondary lines, they carried on, taking over trains that had once been the stomping grounds of "old" cars-R 10s, for example. As one who recalls these cars in their prime, its hard to see them as the old guard. Were at Chambers St in this photo. |
