Milwaukee Road 543
South of Mineral Point at Slateford. Slateford was nothing more than a widespot in the road, but up until the early 1970's, would ship cattle. Less that a mile north of Slateford, was Highland Jct....the point where the Mineral Point & Northern left Milwaukee Road trackage and ran to Highland. The MP&N shared the Mineral Point depot and turntable with the Milwaukee Road, but had their own 2 stall engine house. The MP&N was abandoned in 1930. This train out of Mineral Point consists of 5 91751 series hoppers used to bring in sand and gravel for Ivey Construction.
