Not exactly, as it turned out. The Gs would hang on another few years, and while the E 60s did steady work on the Corridor, they would not turn out to live up to their promise, with new AEM 7s taking over most of the hard work starting in 1982 or so. We see one of the E 60s at Sunnyside, ready to roll a train of new Amfleet cars to Penn Station for a trip to DC. |
