Down the middle  Contributor's Pick!
A dinky blows-or actually, doesnt blow-through La Grange on the center track as it makes a high speed run for Aurora. La Grange, like many Chicago suburbs, had a whistle oridinance prohibiting trains from blowing for crossings. The trains were thick here during rush hour, not only commuters, but BN was not squamish about running big freights mixed in with the dinky parade, so you could just as easily be stepping in front of a 100 car coal train as a commuter. Its a wonder more people were not killed.
