This is the exact point-of-view I had of the trestle as I approached it at age 4 or 5 when my parents and I walked back here, only then this was a much more desolate area and the path wasn't nearly as inviting. Back then it was a rut through the tall weeds. Also, I vividly remember being intimidated by the fact that you had to walk on what seemed to be the edge of a steep drop-off down to a rushing river that was negotiating around the wooden pilings of the trestle. |
