NW 2-6-6-4 #1220 - Norfolk & Western  Contributor's Pick!
Here is another N&W articulated steam loco spotted at Schaeffer's Crossing in Roanoake, VA a day after the N&W fan trip. Like the previous sister #1206, she was built by the N&W shops in 1936 with 70" drivers, whopping 300 psi boiler pressure and a massive 125,897 lb tractive force, Like the rest of the class A articulateds, she was retired between 1958-59, so this may very well have been one of her last times under pressure.
