| One of the truly iconic steam locomotives ever built was this Baldwin cab forward. No other American railroad built this style so it is a unique arrangement soley a Southern Pacific icon. Out of the 256 cab forward units built, only one remains in the California State Museum in Sacramento. No date or location was listed for this photo so they are arbitrarily set. From the service pit to the side, it appears to be in a shops area, possibly Sacramento. No photographer listed either. |
