CMRR 401
CMRR 401's builders plate shines in the afternoon sun on my visit to see a RS1 up close. 60 years ago CMRR 401 rolled out of the ALCO Schenectady plant as ITC 756 later sold to the Green Mtn. Railroad as their 401 and then to the CMRR. This unit was built when the Catskill Mtn. Branch was just fully dieselized by the New York Central. 60 years later this RS1 and a few other ALCO locomotives are all that remain on the old Ulster & Delaware. Even though the Branch is not served by a major railroad it is still great to see a ALCO RS1 still running and a group of volunteers dedicated on restoring the old line.
