Sperry Rail Service 129 at Elmhurst, Illinois on an unknown day in June 1981, Kodachrome by Edward M. DeRouin, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 129 was built in July 1925 as Lehigh Valley 29. The body was built by Saint Louis Car Company (Job Order 1376A), powered by a Winton 106A six cylinder gasoline engine (c/n 133) producing 220 horsepower, and the electrical equipment was supplied by GE. As built, it had a baggage section and seated 42 passengers. It was sold to SRS in April 1938. |
