| My trips to Jersey were somewhat sporadic, and often were tied to riding the many routes across the Garden State, and not necessarily toward catching the freight action. Im glad I rode all I could at the time-the equipment and some of the routes are gone-but looking back, I wish I had spent more time staking out the freights, which also had some interesting power in those days. I did not see many 6 axle U boats, but once in a while I'd get lucky. This one was on a freight at Kearny yard, seen from a passing DLW train between Hoboken and Newark. |
