| SBB have several moveable sub power station in use. Those takes power from a nearby main power line and transform electricity to 15 kV 16.7 Hz system, which is used by SBB. The removable command car and transformer car are a outcome of second world war szenario, where fixed location could be an easy target for any kind of attacks. Therefore this equipment was easy to remove and could be placed elsewhere it is needed after a short time fixing of the connection. |
