Ted Brumberg General Built in 1950 by Budd in Lot #9660-038 to Plan #9521 as AT&SF 10RM-6DB sleeper #1630 PINE GORGE, 1 of 27 PINE-series cars built in that Lot, which was ordered in January 1948, cars were delivered between December 1949 and March 1950. 23 cars were sold in 1971 to Amtrak as #2710-#2732, PINE GORGE as #2720. 1 additional car, #1632 PINE HILL was sold in 1974 to Amtrak as #2733. Amtrak converted 22 of the 24 cars to HEP in 2 batches, the majority of which (18 total) were converted in 1977-1978, including PINE GORGE, which was converted to HEP #2993 in March 1978. Between 1997 and 1999, Amtrak converted 11 of these 22 to crew dormitory-lounges, PINE GORGE was converted to dormitory #2519 in September 1998. #2519 was retired in June 2006.
