An image used for symbolism rather than quality. A Q194 arrives at an otherwise bare Pinoca Yard in 2006. On this date, Pinoca Yard was again bare this morning awaiting a Q194 that would not arrive. Today's train was tragically involved in a rear end collision south of Monroe that took the lives of both the engineer and conductor and injured the crew on the other train. As rail enthusiasts, we are impressed with the imagery and power of trains but it is easy to overlook the inherit dangers of this profession that crews face on a daily basis. As employees, we are ever present of these dangers that there is seldom any margin for error........this image is dedicated the the two crewmen who we lost today as well as the two that suffered injuries. My thoughts and prayers are with them and their families and to the crews out there on all railroads in the hope that they all reach their destinations safely. |
