EMD Bulldog at Bacchus Marsh  Contributor's Pick!
EMD's bulldog design is alive and well Down Under. V/Line A-class A-70 was built in 1953 as B-70, a double-ended, C-C unit with 1610HP. It was rebuilt into A-class configuration (12-645, 2480HP) in 1983 and continues in service to this day. It's shown here with its train at Bacchus Marsh, about 30 minutes west of Melbourne on the Ballarat line.
