These motors are especially preferred in the Pacific NW because their short frame for 6 axles are well suited for that curvy region

Alan Grey General This is one of four "SD9-3" units on BNSF. They started a rebuild program 1998-1999 and have new cabs, "-3" electrical systems, new air brakes, etc. They only did four units and quit the rebuild program. 10/3/2011 6:57:26 PM
