R409 awaiting a recrew  Contributor's Pick!
Where the train is at here, there no road crossings at grade until Doswell, six miles north of here! The BD, former CQ dispatcher, sent her down to Elmont to block the only access road at Gwalthney Church Road, of a subdivison, cutting them off for over an hour from EMS/FIRE service. CSX at its stupidest!

Zachary DeVore General Why does CSX do things like that? I thought there was some sort of law saying that you can't block crossings for more than a half hour. But the other day, I was going to a meeting and I saw a CSX train stopped at a crossing - two hours later I went back there, it was still blocking the same crossing with no crew in it. I know CSX has some good attorneys working for them, but they have to be doing a better job at risk management. 7/6/2008 3:54:17 PM
