According to the October 1971 issue of the ORER, this was one of 300 XL boxcars in the 55300-55599 number series, this one is stencilled: WHEN EMPTY RETURN VIA REVERSE ROUTE TO AGENT GM&O RAILROAD. It is also stencilled as having been weighed: JY.5.80.
