The CB&Q had 15 of these auto parts cars built by Pullman-Standard in July 1965 ( #'s 10200-10214 ), and added 55 more ( #'s 10215-10269 ) specifically designed for the auto parts business. Some of the cars were in dedicated service, and one on-line auto parts supplier was Libby Owens Ford Glass in Ottawa, Illinois, to which some of these cars were assigned. This car was stenciled WHEN EMPTY RETURN TO AGENT CB&Q RR. OTTAWA ILL. One source has it that if you were a loyal GM customer ( purchased EMD locomotives ), auto parts traffic would be routed onto your railroad.
