CNJ 4-8-0C #471 - Central RR of New Jersey
Title:  CNJ 4-8-0C #471 - Central RR of New Jersey
Description:  Here is an active 1899 Alco-Brooks camelback sitting in an unknown location. Thanks to a comment from Daniel Pagdon about the CNJ nickname for this wheel configuration, "Mastodon", it seems very appropriate! No date or location were given for this photo and no photographer was listed.

CNJ 4-8-0C #479 - Central RR of New Jersey
Title:  CNJ 4-8-0C #479 - Central RR of New Jersey
Description:  Originally numbered 469, this Alco-Brooks camelback built in 1901 was renumbered in 1903 to 479. Rebuilt in 1919 to class K1, rebuilt again in January 1924 at Elizabethport to class K1as, reclassed in 1945 to TW40. The scan was left in its sepia tones as conversion to black/white caused a loss of details in this original photo. Thanks to a comment from Daniel Pagdon about the CNJ nickname for this wheel configuration, "Mastodon", it seems very appropriate! No date or location were given for this photo and no photographer was listed.
