Description:  UP GP38N 578, built as SP GP38-2 4815 in May 1980, idles at UP Fairfax Yard on a cold February night with a classic Union Pacific piggy-back service container sitting nearby being used for storage by the yard office. The hand-painted "Be Specific, Ship Union Pacific" lettering can still be seen on the back of the container.

Description:  The LOF41-28 switches GEMCO yard while an unknown railfan watches from a plastic chair he brought to the platform. This job goes to work every morning at GEMCO, and can run a few miles north up the line. Much of its time will be spent arranging trains in the yard itself.
