Title:
PRR 6799, M-1A, 1936
Description:
Here is a photo via Arthur B. Johnson that was taken in East St. Louis, Illinois, in 1936. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6799, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during May of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in March of 1947, and retired in October of 1956 after 26 years of faithful service. It's the last "Mountain" that Lima built for the PRR. Gary Mittner Collection.
