Penn Central #8259 is an H10-44 built by Fairbanks-Morse as Pennsylvania Railroad number "9096" in October of 1949, rated at 1,000 horsepower, and renumbered "8259" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Fairbanks-Morse and Lima Diesels ~ Eastern and Canadian Roads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (902-02). |
